Background - Summary
Many people ask me:
"Why the switch [from computers to psychology]?"
I answer:
"It is still hardware and software, just a different chip..., and one has better choices than living with obsolete stuff... or buying new every three years!"
My Business Philosophy
I studied operations research driven by an early insight that things can be made
to work better, and that the path is not always obvious.
Later, I realized that psychotherapy is to happier life what operations research
is to economic functions: optimisation.
Some highlights...
I am an engineer by education, with an infectious enthusiasm for the human
potential. After spending my first eleven years in Algeria, where I was born, my
family moved out of the revolutionary turmoil of North Africa to the quieter
suburbs of Paris.
In France, I studied Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Sciences at Jussieu
University, Paris, with a particular interest for Boolean Logic. I earned a
Masters degree in Systems Engineering and Operations Research.
I also spent nine years in Israel, where I became a citizen. I am fluent in
three languages, French, English, and Hebrew.
During a twenty five year career in computers around the world, I found my
interests shifting more and more toward the well being of my fellow[o]men, which
led me to pursue a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at PGSP (Pacific
Graduate School of Psychology, Palo Alto, CA).
Father of three children, my cross-cultural experience, my familiarity with the
business world, and my understanding of human dynamics give me a unique view
point on the intricacies of group and team functioning.
